Come to Me all you who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest: Advent Retreat
13th December @ 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

An Advent Retreat for Healthcare professionals, trainees and students.
Saturday 13th December 2025, 10:30am – 6pm.
Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy
Come to join us for an Advent Retreat. We welcome all CMA members to come for a retreat in Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy in the lead up to Christmas. This is an opportunity to reflect on the coming of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at Christmas, the One who provides us with rest when we are weary and feeling overburdened by all the worries and stresses of daily life, which can include our work.
The retreat will be led by Fr Joseph Evans, a Catholic priest and a member of Opus Dei. Fr Joe has worked as a journalist and a youth worker and is currently the chaplain of Grandpont House, a university centre in Oxford. He has a doctorate in Biblical Theology and is author of the poetry collection “When God hides”. He is lead coordinator and a preacher for ‘10 minutes with Jesus’ (found on all major platforms) and many of his own audio meditations can be heard on Spotify or other platforms by searching for ‘Joseph Evans Into the Deep’
We aim to end the retreat by 5pm after which the more energetic of you may wish to find a local venue to spend some social time together.
We only have 40 spaces on the retreat, so do register ASAP to guarantee your place. Please register by 7th November in order to take advantage of our early bird tickets. Tickets after this date will be sold at the standard rate. To buy your ticket, please sign up here:
