Welcome to the
Catholic Medical Association (UK)
Since 1911, we have been helping Catholic healthcare professionals integrate their faith with their clinical practice.
We support excellent ethical healthcare, which fully respects the value and dignity of all persons, in accordance with the teaching of the Catholic Church. Get involved today: for professional support, access to informed opinion, and to have an effective voice within government, the Church and the public sphere.

– Informed Opinion –
“From the time when I was a Medical Student, through the years of training jobs and now as a Senior Consultant, the CMA has been my first port of call to seek guidance when faith and clinical practice are incongruent – highly recommended to those who wish to seek the truth that Jesus Christ offers and apply it in the practical setting of a busy clinical life.”
Emergency Medicine/Intensive Care Med Consultant
– An Effective Voice –
“The CMA has done excellent work at all levels of British society, including in parliament, the media, the GMC, BMA and many other places.”
Consultant and former GP and Clinical Director
– Professional Support –
“It was as a medical student that I was first exposed to medical procedures that conflicted with my conscience. I contacted the CMA regarding one particular dilemma and I received helpful guidance. Feeling very supported by the CMA, I felt able to write to one of my educators sharing some of my concerns.”

– Integrating Faith and Clinical Practice –
“I joined the Guild of Catholic Doctors (as the CMA was), at the start of my career as a GP. The Guild and its members helped me rapidly see the beauty and dignity of the practice of Medicine through the eyes of Faith. I cannot think how barren my professional life would have been without them.”
GP and Former CMA President
