Ethical Questions on AI in Healthcare
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to impact all walks of life. As healthcare workers, we need to understand what this will mean for us and our patients. Come and listen to our speakers: two clinicians, a philosophical theologian, a clinical scientist, and a professor developing facial and voice behaviour analysis for supporting mental health. Hear about exciting research into 'truly personalised' treatment. Consider how we can secure fully human values in this technological revolution. Opportunities for questions.Saturday 22 April 2023

Booking is required
Ticket prices from £10 to £45 Live-stream option is also available Booking is required as there are limited spaces available. Booking and payment is only possible online. Please visit our symposium booking page for both the in-person and live-stream option.Venue
Join us at the Parish Hall of The Good Shepherd 3 Thackeray's Lane, Nottingham NG5 4HT Map: https://goo.gl/maps/HiAH8LWNDPVpSERt5 The venue has full disability access, including a ramp from street level.Parking
There is regular street parking on the north side of the road in front of the church, and on the streets joining on the south side of Thackeray’s Lane. Please take care not to block drives, especially near the Church. There is limited pay and display parking (£3 whole day) by the recreation ground just to the west of the Church. The Church has a very small car park, level with the entrance so easy wheelchair access to the hall, but has asked that in general this is not used so it’s available for parishioners. But if someone has specific mobility needs, please get in touch and we can request that a reserved space is available.Public transport
From Nottingham station, you can get to the Good Shepherd hall in approx 35 mins, using public transport (buses/tram) and walk. Check on Google maps (above) for your travel date and time. (Alternatively, a group of people might consider a shared taxi, which may be about 20 mins, depending on the time of day.)Social - meal out Saturday evening
Those who live in Nottingham, or are staying overnight afterwards, may like to get together to go out for an informal meal together in the evening after the 6pm vigil Mass. If you think you may be interested please indicate after payment when booking.Accommodation
If you would like to stay the night beforehand or after, there are a number of local hotels. The closest is probably the Nottingham North (Daybrook) Premier Inn hotel - only a 15 min walk or 3 min drive away with parking.Questions?

Our March meeting promises to be excellent - Dr Peter Williams will be speaking about how science supports the existence of God, with a focus on his field of expertise - molecular biology. This will be very informative, and, I hope, give us useful ideas to discuss with colleagues. Note we have moved this from the usual Thursday to avoid a clash with the Arundel and Brighton Diocesan Lent mission, which takes place on Thursdays at that time. Best wishes, Sussex Branch President To register your interest, please complete the form below. Ethical Questions on AI in Healthcare
Parish Hall of The Good Shepherd 3 Thackeray's Lane, Nottingham, United KingdomArtificial Intelligence (AI) is set to impact all walks of life. As healthcare workers, we need to understand what this will mean for us and our patients. This symposium is a chance to hear perspectives from a line-up of clinicians, a philosophical theologian, and a clinical scientist. Hear about exciting research into 'truly personalised' treatment and from a professor developing a behaviour analysis app for supporting mental health. Consider how we can secure fully human values in this technological revolution. There will be opportunities for questions...
